Getting admits shouldn't really be anything to worry, you should be getting multiple admits from above universities.

I think even if you get scholarship from KTH or Chalmers, it would be 25% or 50%. Lets say even if you are very lucky and are able to get 75% scholarship from Swedish universities, you would still be paying roughly 8000eurs in two years. And if you get admission in any of the Finnish university, you wont have to pay even a single euro (only student union fees ~40eur), so that would be still better than getting 75% scholarship from Sweden. In Denmark, (good) scholarship chances are far less than Sweden, so, I think Finland should be your target.
Finland has very good job market for CS/IT (depending on your skills of course).

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

I hate poor administrations....

University Admissions in Finland asks for registrar email address and number for both high school and college. Considering the way my college runs, I hardly think the registrar checks his email. And if he does, I wonder if he ll reply about the verification of student qualification, going by the attitude he carries.

And as far as school is concerned, do they want me to mention CBSE or my actual school name (i.e DPS Faridabad). And be it any one of them, how the f*** am supposed to mention a registrar!!! Do they care to mantain records, and even if they do, do they reply!!! I dont want things to get messed up because of "incomplete" application....

Sad

Rocker.pg Put your higher secondary/college name in full form, and try to get the email address of the registrar. They just need the higher secondary school information in online application, they dont require the certificates of higher secondary school. So they won't be contacting your higher secondary school unless they suspect something.

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

I have no idea about universities in Finland and their administrative issues. As billa mentioned, its more of a formality and nothing beyond it.

Not active on Edulix anymore! Please tag other seniors for guidance.

All the best!

Me too mate, no idea about Finland. The only thing I know about it is that it's very cold! Laughing But as the guys above said, relax and try to contact the registrar if possible.

FH Aachen (Energy Systems- Renewable Energy)

Available for Mechanical Profile Evaluations for Germany. Please tag me and wait!

Currently swamped with work and Uni, so won't be able to respond immediately. A thousand apologies to all those waiting for Profile Evals or who want questions to be answered. And please do NOT email me. Thank you!

billa How's the quality of education in Italy at master's level?? I went through the catalogue.... The ones they claim to be in english happen to be in italian partially.... Is english spoken widely r not compared to sweden n finland?? The only attraction is their scholarships.... They happen to give loads of scholarships... Job prospects in cs/it?? Is it worth it???

Also most of the international students r from developing countries...... is there international diversity integarted into italian locals??? Is it gonna be socially enriching???

Some universities are good and offer full degree in English.

Rocker.pg Wrote:Is english spoken widely r not compared to sweden n finland??

No, not at all.

Rocker.pg Wrote:The only attraction is their scholarships.... They happen to give loads of scholarships...

True.

Rocker.pg Wrote:Job prospects in cs/it?? Is it worth it???

For jobs, its not a good place. For PhD, yes you can easily get funded PhD unlike many other European countries.

Rocker.pg Wrote:Also most of the international students r from developing countries...... is there international diversity integarted into italian locals??? Is it gonna be socially enriching???

yes, most of the students are from developing countries in the degree programs. Some Europeans students go for exchange. Depends on you how you make your circles.

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

Rocker.pg haha. thanks.
Yes, if you are looking for jobs, Finland would be one of the best places in Europe. Consider replacing University of Helsinki with TUT's IT degree and University of Oulu with UEF's IT degree.

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.
