Rocker.pg Since you have made this thread so long, I forgot where you were applying LaughingLaughing For Sweden you don't need LORs. For most of other places, there's nothing like accepting or rejecting LORs, its just that how much they will be effective.

But anyway, 4 months makes roughly a semester and many students work on a project for a semester, so I guess it should be ok. You don't need to be a childhood friend with a professor Smile

I guess sometimes the past just catches up with you, whether you want it to or not.

billa Scholarships application forms for both kth and chalmers are open now... Both require their course as first priority... Which one should I consider as first priority so that I have maximum chances of securing a scholarship..
Quote: Sweden(In order of preference)
Chalmers - MS in Software Engineering
KTH - Software Engineering of Distributed Systems
Chalmers - Computer Science – algorithms, languages and logic
KTH - Machine Learning
That was my list as of now... KTH or Chalmers? I have strong preference for software engineering... Chalmers site shows detailed info about the scholarships saying over 90 scholarships will be offered...
Chalmers Scholarships' Page Details

KTH Scholarships' Page Details

I ll be eligible for 3 scholarship programs at Chalmers if I apply to

Chalmers - MS in Software Engineering

What do you think??

Rocker.pg if i remember correctly, KTH has around 40-45 scholarships only. There are good chances at Chalmers, so perhaps it would be best to put all 3 programs of Chalmers at top. Good luck.

billa i was wondering whether, like italy, is there a strong language barrier in denmark? Do international students study with locals? How are are job oppurtunities? Is it worth it?

Btw .... I didn't and am not applying to italy after the feedback i got from you.... I dont want to go out and see myself learning languages instead of learning the technical subject.... I am not saying I don't want to. I am just saying I want to focus on something more substantial here...

Rocker.pg No, Denmark, especially Copenhagen is very international city. Jobs situation is good. In general, Nordic countries have least language problem.

billa hmmm... Please answer this black and white Question:

If funding is not an issue, and u get admits from all 3 countries-Sweden, Finland and Denmark to Computer Science course, what would you opt? Justify your answer. Keep in mind overall potential experiences during higher studies (culture and all) and future prospects for good paying cherishing jobs.

Kinda over said, but it matters. Smile

Rocker.pg Don't generalize whole country, see in which university you get admission.
Its really hard to compare like this. But if you talk about culture and all, I guess Copenhagen is the most 'international' city in whole nordic countries.

Ã…bo Akademi is a Swedish university in Turku (a major Swedish speaking city in Finland), they are more known for arts and social sciences. I Think their IT deparment is working with university of Turku, and Turku is not really an IT city, not many IT companies there, its more like cultural city of Finland.
