Apostille / Legalization of documents from Bangalore
I need to get my Police Clearance Certificate ( issued by the passport office) Apostille'd as a part of my Visa Documentation. I would appreciate any guidance on getting the same done from Bangalore.
VFS seems ready to get only the legalization done( I need this for the Medical Cert). Frankly, I have not yet been able to figure out the difference between legalization and Apostille . Inputs on these are also appreciated!
PS: I have checked the MEA website with details of getting it done from Delhi, Chennai, etc.,...

RE: Apostille / Legalization of documents from Bangalore
sherlockholmes I do not have much knowledge about this but from what I have understood so far, Apostilling can only be done by very specific authorities and has to be first done at the home state and then the MEA at Delhi.
For Bangalore, I believe you to get it authenticated by -
14) Karnataka
1. Shri H C Nagendra, Deputy Secretary/Smt Alice Gonsalves, Under Secretary, Home Department, Passport and Foreigners, Room No 224, IInd Floor, Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore-560001, Tel: 080-22033371 (O)
I got this information here
Then it has to finally apostilled at one of the MEA centers listed here
PS: I am sorry if you already know this and were looking for some other information.
Aalto | COSSE | EMCL | RWTH(MI) | TU Dortmund(A&R)
UTAustin | PSU(IST) | TAMU | RPI(IT&WS) | SUNY SB |SUNY B | UFL
At: RWTH (MI)
Note: I can only answer general queries on applications or maybe visa rules/queries about the courses I applied to. I am no good at Profile Evals.

RE: Apostille / Legalization of documents from Bangalore
ravekanth Thank you.
Yeah, I did check that. But as the PCC has already been attested by the Passport authorities, I need to get the final attestation done by MEA authorities at Delhi, Chennai..etc., There are none in Bangalore for the final Apostille. Thomas Cook and others seem to be offering to get it done, but they charge 3k to get it done from Delhi, for something the Govt. charges Rs50!
cheers,
Guru
