Hi,

I went through the NUS School of Computing website and could not find anything about the Meng program like the one offered in NTU. Is it even offered in NUS or people rejected for PhD are considered for it automatically.Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

First thing - Getting into M.Eng is more difficult than PhD, it is Masters with funding and usually professors/department is very strict in terms of spending money for short term labor. Laughing

I don't know particularly about NUS-MEng-CS program, you have to look on their website if it exists.

krishme007 - My GRE is on the 16th of July.
Can you suggest which one will be better M.Eng or MSc as I want to work in the industry more than going for a PhD.
Thanks
Can you please tell me about the visa procedure for Singapore. Is it ok if I show liquid cash for the first year[tuition+living] expenses. What about on campus jobs?

Both wil help for it. Its really your choice. For research based programs, u needn't show any financial proof. For coursework 15000$ has to be shown in NUS while applying.

Visa is a simple process and is in no way similar to that of.US. There wont be any interview. Its completely online. Don't worry about it.

Vinay

^ First thing please NO SIR for me. Laughing

I wont agree to any of profile evaluation here for MEng-NTU.
See, getting into MEng as I told is bit difficult, so you need to see which all professors are working in your area. Then if you would be able to find any such professor who has funding to support you can offer you admission.

You GPA is good, which will help you getting admit but more than that you have to convince a professor working in your area.

Meng VS MSc - I will say go for MEng.
MEng is more detailed program where you'll get to taste research, will improve your problem solving skills, also funding to support yourself hereSmile

If I go for an MSc program what is the probability of me getting a summer internship or on campus job in NUS/NTU? How is the current job scenario in Singapore?

Please stress on the availability of on campus jobs and summer internship and to what extent can these reduce the burden of loan and can take care of daily expenses.
Thanks.

Since its a one year program only, I wont suggest you to do on-campus as study-load would be heavy.
MSc - for one year only, you will finish program before summers.
Job Scenario - I would say its ok, employers stress here previous work-ex but every body end up taking 1 job atleast.

Soching Is the masters at NUS of only 1 year duration? Would it not be very difficult to finish the course in just 1 year?Do most Indians there complete it in a year?

Depends on individuals also, some take one semester more to complete their dissertation also. Read the details on the program website, will help you understanding more.
You're always free to ask any query after reading it.

Soching Thanks for the replies!!
I am interested in doing M.Comp(coursework) in NUS and I went through the programs website but they have mentioned only the minimum and maximum candidature nothing about the average duration people finish the course in.Here is the link
http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/nusbulle...progs.html
I wanted the info so that I can compute the funds required for my further studies. Do you have any idea about the average candidature?
Thanks
